Note
An important thing to note as you read writing by trans people from
some of the websites linked here is that trans people are not a
monolith. What is meant by this is that not every trans person has
the same views on even basic things like what it means to be trans
or what gender is or if gender even exists.
It is a dangerous misconception to think that trans people
are a monolith, because it goes hand in hand with the view
that being trans is an ideology (this is why the term
"transgenderism" will throw up some red flags for many people) which
can be refuted. No, trans people are just a
group of people who identify with the term for whatever reason, like
people who would describe themselves as mathematicians or athletes (and if you ask a mathematician or athlete what makes them one, no matter your thoughts on the answer, you'll likely get different answers or at least wordings/understandings from different people. This is also true of asking cis men or cis women what makes them men or women respectively, as well as trans women and trans men and agender people and multigender people and so on.)

Note: The categories here are very rough, and I chose the '/etc.' in the block titles to emphasize that; I have mixed feelings on the choice to categorize at all here, but functionally for finding things (like similar experiences to oneself, experiences dissimilar to oneself and etc.) I think it can be useful and beneficial. I recognize that it does risk creating an impression of conflation of certain things, and I hope saying as such helps mitigate that- these are wide, likely unequally sized, potentially overlapping and likely to some degree arbitrary buckets. I've tried to do my best based off of how people describe their experiences and their gender (and primarily the terms they use), and ofc if anyone would like categorization here to be handled differently (for them or just in general) or for me to remove a link or etc. please just let me know.
Additional notes (more for myself and organization):
- (gonna be reworking what 'buckets' are here too soon)
- maybe add a bit for cis ppls experiences, if I can find any of cis ppl who've written about their experiences of gender/cisness at length; could especially help for comparing against for ppl who are questioning
- adjust the html here so it's split horizontally into halves or thirds or smth
